IMO releasing them with FW 1.10 was not planned at the start as they had games made with lower FW than that on the disc which makes no sense if they knew the launch FW version would be FW 1.10 all along, So my theory is that they decided later on to release with 1.10 and probably had to update the boards at some point.

Keep it well ventilated it will be fine. There is nothing that matches the look and functionality of the A01 so my vote is for worth it. Those consoles are prone to failure if mistreated, to keep it alive clean it out and replace the thermal paste once a year, keep it in an open space at all times to keep it cool.
