I joined a gun club that host matches and got a holosun comp on the way.The steel is still sitting around $1000 most places if not more and the poly can be had new just over $530 or used sub $500 sometimes. For your case just standing around and shooting casually it’s a no brainer ti get the poly. You absolutely will not be exploiting the advantages of the steel.
